Whether you are seeking friendship, exercise, educational programs or recreational and leisure activities the Webster Senior Center is one place that is committed to providing these opportunities for residents of the town of Webster. We welcome you to check out the various programs and activities we offer in the Webster Parks and Recreation Department’s Program Guide, which is mailed to residents four times a year. (August, January, etc. ) You are also invited to stop by the Webster Senior Center to see our facilities firsthand, and we encourage you to share your ideas about what we can do to enrich your experience with us.
IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING THE RELOCATION OF THE WEBSTER SENIOR CENTER.
The Webster Senior Center will relocate to the Damascus Temple, 979 Bay Road on March 1, 2010. The Lunch Club 60, senior singers, bingo, and other programs, as well as Faith Bell and Bert LaPlant, will be housed at this location for approximately 18 months while the expansion of the new community center is completed.

Services and Opportunities
- Recreational and Leisure Programs/Activities – Every season the Webster Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programs for all ages. Consult the program guide for details on registering for the latest fitness, arts and craft, dance and personal enrichment programs.
- Seminars/Educational Programs – Throughout the year we offer programs that will expand your knowledge, teach you a new skill or help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Recent seminars have provided information on how to protect yourself from the latest scams and ripoffs, how to organize your personal and financial information and ways to avoid falls and keep your body limber.
- Bert’s Bistro – A delicious hot meal is served by Bert and Theresa at Bert’s Bistro, located at the Webster Community Center, Mondays through Fridays, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. This nutritious lunch is served cafeteria-style and assistance is available for those needing help carrying their trays. There is a $2.50 donation required for those 60 and older, and a $4.00 charge for those under 60. Registration is not needed, except for special occasions. Each day’s menu is included in the Senior Center’s monthly newsletter, “Looking Forward”, which is available at the Community Center.
- Holiday/Birthday Parties – There is always something worth celebrating at the Webster Senior Center. A special birthday party is held at the beginning of each month for all those who are turning a year older during that month. Also every major holiday is observed with a special meal and entertainment.
- Bridge and Euchre – If you love to play these games there is a time set aside nearly every week for playing with others who enjoy playing cards.
- Loan Cupboard – Our Loan Cupboard provides medical equipment, including crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs, free of charge to Webster residents who need them for a limited amount of time. Call the Community Center at 872-7103 for more information.
- Webster Association of Senior Program Supporters – In the past this group has sponsored bus tours to Letchworth and the Turning Stone Casino. This group is also raising funds for the purchase of a new bus to transport senior citizens.
- Visionairies – This support group assists those who are experiencing problems with their vision. The group is facilitated by one its members, Jim Fleming. Guest speakers are sometimes featured at these meetings.
- Eldersource – A trained case manager is available Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to help those persons age 60 and older and their families sort through the maze of available services, benefits and health insurance for senior citizens and the paperwork that goes with it. No appointment is necessary and services are offered on a first come, first served basis. This service is co-sponsored by the Monroe County Office for the Aging and Lifespan.
- Senior Singers – This coed group rehearses weekly and sings Broadway show tunes, old standards and holiday songs. They often perform in the community.
- Senior Transportation – An air-conditioned mini bus provides a ride to and from the Webster Community Center Mondays through Fridays, between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. for residents of the Webster Central School District who are age 60 and older and their spouses. Weekly grocery trips, and occasional rides to a mall, discount store or to personal appointments are also offered. The suggested donation is $2 per person, per day.
