Senior Programs
The Webster Senior Center will relocate to the Damascus Temple, 979 Bay Road on March 1, 2010. The Lunch Club 60, senior singers, bingo, and other programs, as well as Faith Bell and Bert LaPlant, will be housed at this location for approximately 18 months while the expansion of the new community center is completed.
Theraband, Swedish Fitness, Zumba Gold and other programs will be moved to the Webster Recreation Center, 1350 Chiyoda Drive.
Bridge and Euchre will be held at Liberty Lodge at Finn Park, 850 Maple Drive.

Blood pressure screening is a concern to many and it isn’t always easy to get into the doctor’s office to have it checked. Let us help make it easier to monitor. This health screening is offered the first Wednesday of every month. No appointment is needed. Non-resident fee does NOT apply.

The Senior Singers are looking for new members! This coed group of adults enjoy music and love to sing Broadway show tunes, old standards and holiday songs. We’ve had such fun playing this famous Western New York card game that we now play once a week! The group plays four games, takes a beverage break and then plays another four games. No written registrations is required. This Euchre group is offering lessons every Thursday from 11:45 AM - 12:15 PM. They welcome observation and new members who can play the game. A trained case manager helps residents and their families sort through the maze of available services, benefits, health insurance, etc. and the paperwork that goes with it. The case manager is available on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. No appointments are necessary. Services are offered on a first come, first served basis. This service is cosponsored by the Monroe County Office for the Aging and Lifespan. Funding guidelines limit this service to persons 60 years of age and over and their spouses of any age. Family members of seniors may also seek services for the senior in their life. Non-resident fee does NOT apply.

An air-conditioned mini bus provides a ride from any home in the Webster Central School District to the Webster Community Center. Weekly grocery trips, occasional trips to a mall or discount stores, along with personal appointments are also offered. For further information please contact our Senior Services Coordinator Faith Bell at 872-0385. Funding guidelines limit this service to persons 60 years of age and over and their spouse of any age. The suggested donation is $2.00 per person, per day. There will be no transportation on 2/15, 4/2 and 5/31. Transportation will begin pick-ups at 8:30am. Non resident fee does NOT apply.

Bert’s Bistro (located at the Webster Community Center) is the place to be if you are looking for a delicious hot meal and a great way to socialize with new and old friends. Bert and our Bistro staff, are waiting for you! The meal is acceptable even for those on a diabetic diet. Lunch is served cafeteria-style, assistance is available for those needing help carrying their trays. A complete menu is included in our monthly newsletter, “Senior Happenings”, copies are available at the Community Center. Registration is not needed except for special occasions. Sign-in time is 11:30 a.m. The meal is served at approximately12:00 p.m. Funding guidelines set a $2.50 donation for those 60 and over. Persons under 60 must pay the full cost of the meal which is $4.00 per person. Non-resident fee does NOT apply. By the way, are you wondering who “Bert” is in Bert’s Bistro? Come to the center and find out!

The Senior Exploring The Bible group is alive and well, and ready to welcome you. For a little over a year we have enjoyed each other’s company as we visited a variety of people and places in the word. There is still much more to explore. Come and join us! Everyone is welcome. We’re going to lunch! Spend some time with friends or making new ones! We will travel together in our van, or you are welcome to meet us at the restaurant.
