The purpose of this series is to offer guidance and support for developing a daily meditation practice. We live in a world of ever-increasing stress. Even though many people think a meditation practice would be good for them, they find it difficult to begin and maintain a practice on their own. Having the support of others, and the careful, compassionate guidance of an experienced meditation instructor can be essential in maintaining a healthy meditation practice. Chairs are provided. You may bring your own meditation cushion if you would like. Please note the pre-requisite for attending this series is any previous class or private instruction with Padme Livingstone. This is one of the most popular classes in Webster. Have you ever wondered what causes back pain? Would you like to learn how to get rid of back pain or even prevent it from ever starting in the first place? This class will help you understand why we develop back pain. You will learn exercises that you can perform at home to strengthen your back and we will help you understand the importance of keeping core musculature at peak performance. Please bring an exercise mat or towel so that you can practice these exercises in class. Everyone is welcome! You are never too old to start learning proper back care. The Squadron Boating Course is a course for adult boaters including skippers of a family cruiser, sailing enthusiast, personal watercraft (PWC) operators, hunters, or fisherman operating an outboard motor on a utility boat, and canoe and kayak paddlers. It covers the basics you need to know to safely and legally operate your boat, such as basic boating terminology, boat handling, water sports safety, PWC’s, legally required equipment and other boating laws and regulations, right-of-way rules between boats, and marine radio operation. This course fulfills the NYS requirement of 8 hours of instruction along with a proctored exam, and meets the requirements for NYS personal watercraft operation. There is a $50 materials fee, paid to the instructor the day of the class. Please bring a #2 pencil, paper, pen and a lunch to class. This program runs the same time as the youth class.
