Dance Classes

Participants will move together with songs, dances, various music styles and rhythms. Hoops, maracas and tumbling help children to experience many forms of dance. All sessions conclude with a performance during the last day of class. Wear comfy clothes and ballet shoes or sneakers. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The stage is not available on Wednesday evenings so the last day performance for 232c will be on Thursday, May 13.

Children with their adult will experience basic acrobatics while learning to work individually and with others. They will stretch, learn balance, and build strong bodies using floor mats, a wedge, tube mats, hoops, and mini trampoline. All sessions conclude with a performance during the last day of class. Please make sure kids wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children will experience the basic ballet warm up at the “barre”, learn jumps, turns and movements across the floor. The last 10 minutes of class will be tumbling. Various music styles from classical to contemporary will be used to enhance the class. All sessions conclude with a performance during the last day of class. Girls attire is ballet shoes, a leotard and tights can be worn. Boys attire is ballet shoes, shorts or sweat pants and t-shirt.

Children will experience basic ballet warm up at the barre, turns and movements across the floor. A ballet dance will be taught and the last half of class will be working on tap steps and combinations from Vaudeville (Shim Sham, Shuffle off to Buffalo and Maxie Ford). Both a ballet and tap dance will be performed the last day of the class. Girls’ and boys’ attire: ballet shoes, tap shoes, shorts or sweatpants, and T-shirt (girls may wear leotards). The stage is not available on Wednesday evenings so the last day performance for 235a will be on Thursday, May 13.

Learn the dances from HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. This class is for everyone who enjoys learning those steps and arm movements. Come with your friends and be prepared for your next party. We cover the basics of popular video dance then learn the dances. There will be tumbling incorporated in the last 20 minutes of class.
